Remembering October 7: 7 Days. 7 Mitzvot.
As we mark the third anniversary of the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack on Israel, Jewish Federation of Dutchess County invites our community to honor the lives lost, support those still carrying the impact of that day, and turn remembrance into action.
From October 1–7, take on one mitzvah each day:
- REMEMBER — Learn a victim’s name and story.
- GIVE — Support survivors and bereaved families.
- REACH OUT — Call someone who needs connection.
- SHARE — Bring someone a meal or donate food.
- SERVE — Volunteer in your community.
- CONNECT — Join in Jewish learning or a gathering.
- DEDICATE — Do a mitzvah in memory of a life lost.
There is no single way to remember October 7. Through acts of kindness, connection, learning, and service, we can honor those whose lives were taken and carry their memory forward.
Share your mitzvot with us. Email a story or photo to [email protected], or tag @JewishDutchess on Instagram or /JFedDC on Facebook.
