Why the poppy?
After World War I, red poppies grew across Europe’s battle-scarred fields. Their red blooms came to represent the lives lost and sacrifices made in war, and wearing a poppy remains a way to remember the fallen and honor all who served.
About Pvt. Herman Siegel Post 625
For years, Post 625 has held this poppy distribution as a way to support veterans served by Castle Point VA Medical Center. Donations collected through this year’s distribution will be used to purchase food and clothing for veterans at the facility.
Post 625 is the only active Jewish War Veterans post between Westchester and Albany.
