Annual program offers opportunity for being part of "Tikkun Olam"
Mitzvah Day is coming up on May 3 -- the Jewish community's big day of community service in Dutchess County.  The day kicks off  at the JCCDC with a bagel breakfast at 9:00 am, and some rousing tunes led by Cantor Rena Shapiro and local student choirs.  Then everyone sets off to do work on a variety of projects in Poughkeepsie and around the county -- cooking at Dutchess Outreach, projects at the JCCDC, work at Hudson River Housing, and much more.  Don't forget the Blood and Bone Marrow Drive at the JCCDC which takes place from 9 am - 1 pm.  Everyone will gather for a late lunch and more singing with Lynn Gerb at the JCCDC at 3 p.m. There are projects for everyone from age 5 to age 105.     To sign up call 471-9817.  Or visit us online to register today. at http://www.jewishdutchess.org
