BLOGGING JEWISH IN DUTCHESS

I am often asked why I did decide to go into Jewish Communal Service as a profession, and more than once I actually need to remind myself of the reasons, since the reality of the job is very different from the idea of it.

The short answer to the question is that I did not choose the job, but the job chose me. I always felt very strongly about my Jewish Identity – my secular, Zionist centered, Jewish identity. Working in the Jewish community seemed to me the natural thing to do. Since I love the Jewish people and feel strongly about Israel, what better job to have than serving my people and my convictions?
