BLOGGING JEWISH IN DUTCHESS
This past week I came back from participating in the Small Federations Executive Institute, which took place in Havana, Cuba. I didn't know exactly what to expect as I took the 40 minutes flight from Miami to the Jose Marti International Airport. We were told that we would be meeting with members of the Cuban Jewish Community, but how could Jews retain their identity with a total population of 1,500 living under a socialist regime isolated from much of the western world?
