BLOGGING JEWISH IN DUTCHESS  

As practically every other American, I have been enthralled over The last couple of weeks about the process to reach some kind of bipartisan consensus to avoid the "Fiscal Cliff". I heard the arguments from both sides - and both were compelling. What I have difficulty understanding was how could they hold the country hostage to their own brinkmanship game to jockey for political positions. Intellectually, I do understand that the game was about positioning themselves to ensure the Country is headed in what each side believes to be the right direction.

As an independent and as a Jew, however, my concerns were beyond which party would eventually prevail or to which extent the compromise would reflect the Democratic or the Republican positions. I was concerned about what I see in the eyes of people in need.
