On July 18, 1994, I was sitting at my desk and I received a phone call from a fellow Argentinean Jew and friend of mine who worked at the time for the American Jewish Committee in New York. His words hit me like a sledgehammer: the AMIA building in Buenos Aires had been bombed. That was the beginning of a number of frantic days trying to determine what had happened to those of my friends who worked in that building
