BLOGGING JEWISH IN DUTCHESS

Brinkmanship is a funny thing. When it works, it is always recalled as a great strategy which avoided uncounted problems. When it doesn't, it is normally recalled as a monumental mistake costing millions of lives and/or dollars. Look at history.

One American President who played brinkmanship to the hilt was Ronald Reagan. Another one was John F Kennedy during the Pig's Bay crisis. Both are recorded by History as great American leaders during the Cold War...mainly because they succeeded.
